So, I realize that when you think of the old masters, Jackson Pollock is probably the very last artist that you would think of, since he is best known for his crazy splatter painting and not for refined drawings and sketches. But I came across this figure drawing on the website for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and I was instantly attracted to it. Its loose mark gives it so much depth, and I also find it interesting in that it does not appear completely finished.
I've gotten a decent start on the drawing, with the entire form lightly sketched out. I am still trying to decipher which medium I'm going to use, but that will most likely be decided on Tuesday.
